Heart Academy's Alumnae Association seeks to maintain a
strong and lasting connection between SHA and its
alumnae.
The support of alumnae and alumnae parents is always
needed. We love to hear from members of the SHA
community, and we invite you to use these pages as a
means for locating a classmate, finding out the latest
reunion news, and maintaining contact with all of us
here on Benham Street!

A special thank you to the class of 2007 who donated money
for the purpose of purchasing Automated External
Defibrillators. We were able to purchase two devices for the
school. Thank you for your generosity!!
Year in Review
Alumnae Induction Ceremony
The Class of 2007 was inducted into the SHA Alumnae
Association during a Paralitugy in the Main Chapel on May
23, 2007. Over 100 Alumnae returned to Sacred Heart to
sponsor members of the Class of 2007. A reception for the
alumnae was held in the Lecture Hall following the Induction
Ceremony. Thank you to Carol Jankowski, '65 for catering the
reception for us. We congratulate the Class of 2007 and wish
them the very best in their future endeavors.
Alumnae Mothers of the Class of 2011
Alumnae whose daughters will be members of the Incoming
Freshmen Class attended a reception in their honor on April
24, 2007. The reception was held in the Lecture Hall and was
hosted by the Alumnae Association. Those in attendance
shared memories, renewed friendships and acquaintances. The
incoming freshmen alumnae mothers found the evening very
enjoyable and profitable as many of their questions were
answered. They look forward to being involved once again at
Sacred Heart Academy. We look forward to having them join
our SHA Family.
Alumnae Children's Easter Party
The SHA Alumnae Easter Party was held on
Saturday, March 31, 2007, from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. Activities began in the Cafeteria and
included face painting, magic show, music, 3 separate
Easter egg hunts and special photos with the Easter
Bunny. Adults snacked on coffee and donuts and
children enjoyed special Easter snacks and treats.
Alumnae Day of Recollection
On Saturday, April 21, 2007, there was a Day of
Recollection held at Sacred Heart on the Lake in Higganum,
CT, from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The theme was “Come to the
waters and be renewed in the Lord’s love!” Presenters are
Sr. Patricia Cigrand, ASCJ and Sr. Eleanor Perfetto, ASCJ.
The day included breakfast, lunch, 2 conferences, and
the chance to take advantage of all that the lovely
45-acre rustic setting had to offer.
Meetings of the Alumnae Association
Activities are being planned and committees are
constantly being
formed for SHA Alumnae. Each month our number is growing! Make it
a point to come to the next meeting and bring a friend.
You’ll be glad that you did!
Updates on Deceased Family and Friends
SHA is blessed with an extensive community of alumnae,
parents, and faculty in its 60 year history. All have left
an imprint on the Academy. The Alumnae Office would like to
be notified, especially when a loved one has died. Names
will appear in the In Memoriam section of the next issue of
HEART magazine and will also be entered into our Book of
Remembrance for our next annual Chapel Bells Mass next
November.
